As the founder and CEO of The Execu|Search Group, Edward Fleischman started the firm in 1985 with a focus on serving accounting firms, boutique hedge funds, and private equity funds. Execu|Search has since grown to become an industry-leading professional recruitment and temporary staffing firm serving multiple lines of business.
Prior to starting The Execu|Search Group, Ed, a CPA, was the Director of Human Resources for Spicer & Oppenheim, an international accounting firm based in New York. He also served as a senior member of a national recruiting firm after beginning his career in public accounting.
A firm believer in professional ethics, Ed is proud that The Execu|Search Group is held to the highest standards in the marketplace. He also believes strongly in fostering personal and career development among his team. "Giving employees the opportunity to develop and advance with a company is a vital element in growth. I enjoy seeing someone join us at the entry or a senior level, and then go on to grow and thrive. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing new staff succeed."
Ed regularly counsels the firm's clients in strategic senior-level hiring, structuring of compensation packages, and human resources issues. His expertise has extended beyond the firm’s clients to also be featured in publications such as Business Insider, CNBC.com, Crain’s, Forbes, The Huffington Post, and U.S. News & World Report. He is also a regular contributor to the Fortune Leadership Insider Network, and has made appearances on Bloomberg TV, NBC, and a Monster/NY Times panel.
At The Execu|Search Group, he facilitates a company culture that encourages employees to play an integral role in the firm's success. His devotion to staff development has allowed the firm to not only attract and retain top talent, but to cultivate it as well. While Ed has overseen the expansion of the firm's locations and the development of new lines of business, he believes the firm would not be successful without the hard work and commitment of all the staff.
Ed holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and two children.
